High Performance Stream Server
The Vusion High Performance Streaming Server is designed for the high-throughput and low latency that equates to a HD FullVu streaming experience. From its inception, the goal of the Streaming Server has been to achieve the highest server density with maximum throughput -- more HD streams with fewer servers. In addition, streaming latency optimization is absolutely critical in order to meet our stringent rapid-start requirements without impacting QoS.
The High Performance Streaming Servers are deployed in our POPs integrated with High Performance Media Stores and Vusion Dense Media Archive. The Streaming Servers use fully automated configuration scripts for quick-provisioning and deployment, enabling us to easily add capacity as needed.

The Streaming Server accesses video streams from the High Performance Media Store using an efficient and scalable Vusion proprietary global resource naming scheme. The namespace of the global naming scheme includes all video/audio streams and associated resources (subtitles, thumbnails, playlists etc.) across all global Vusion POPs. The Streaming Server can access any stream or resource with a single lookup -- basically, every compute cycle is maximized and network latency is minimized in order to provide rapid-start video and guaranteed streaming QoS.
The Streaming Server is capable of synchronizing with the Media Store and caching streams within single POP or across POPs. This enables each Streaming Server to efficiently access and stream both popular videos and the long tail content effectively.
